The new book, THE DISCIPLE, seems to be generating some excitment. Not in Iran, apparently, where folks are rioting over the accusation that the political opposition burned a photo of the Ayatollah Khomeini. The government accuses their political enemies, the enemies accuse the government. Sounds like one of Hitler’s shenanigans, doesn’t it? Inevitably, the Iranian government is going to crack down harder on regime opponents.
It seems to be a tough time to do your own thinking anywhere on this planet. Maybe it always has been.
