What About World Peace?

A newspaper in the Middle East recently reported that an inspection of the recently destroyed Syrian reactor turned up some traces of weapons-grade U-235, suggesting the Syrians are closer to a bomb than recently believed.  One wonders how the Israelis are taking all this.  With Ahmadiejad thumbing his nose at the international community and the UN, one suspects the Israelis might be noodling a military strike on Iran’s reactors…

Wonder if Ahmadinejad and the mullahs are thinking about that too?  Ah me, it’s a violent, unstable world we live in.  Over half the world’s oil production comes from the Middle East, the home of large numbers of very poor people living under dictatorships of one kind or another, whipped into frenzies by ignorant, ranting holy men.  Doesn’t sound like a prescription for world peace, does it?
